Well then...
Must win match.
At Portland, one of the toughest places in play in MLS.
We’ve won one game on the road all season (and that was in the state of Texas).
Brad Davis and Adam Moffat both one yellow card from suspension next weekend.
What could possibly go wrong?

Yo si le voy, le voy al naranja!
why start Carr???
He’s a speedster so it’s best to play him in the second half when the Timbers are tired
Ching apparently not healthy enough

and the Timbers defense on the wings is weak, so attacking it with Davis and Carr is good idea

i hope cruz proves me wrong
but i just don’t think he is a starting quality player. Although he is fast, his passes are off most of the time and he can’t cross worth a crap, maybe we should of tried clark or watson instead.
agreed
I imagine Dom was thinking that between him & Carr their pace could trouble the Portland backline, particularly on the wings (as Ginge noted).
But yeah, normally Cruz has great pace but poor touch & poor decisions. Hopefully his pluses make the difference in this match

gooooooooooool!!
the red head scores one for the orange :)
Love how Hainult's goal was in the 31st minute
and how because of him rejecting the canadian team call-up, we’re winning. Beautiful goal
so far
So good. Like I figured, a back-and-forth game where we’ve had more possession & control, but they’ve had some dangerous counters. If we can somehow get one more goal (based on play, its possible) then we can pull this off. Come on boys!!!

So far...
Lol, my pick of Hainault over Boswell looks genius, and the team has proved me right. Loooooove it.

Watson should've had a yellow
Somebody remind me why any of us thought he’d help the midfield?

word
now if we get a result or two our way, we’ll be in a much better position. Need to re-read Ginge’s other post to see how we need the other games to swing
If we win the last game
We are in, period. End of story.

i though costly looked ok. he gets involved a lot with his back to goal. but unfortunately he does not get too involved when we are countering or even when we are going forward.
Although it seemed to me with the amount of back passes he made this game, he may have been under instruction to do so.
Yeah
he basically played the CAM role tonight…we effectively had one striker tonight, Carr, because Costly acted as an advanced midfielder. I suppose without Ching to win and hold the ball with back-to-goal to allow numbers to come forward it necessitated Costly playing as deep as he did. But hey, whatever it took to win…we desperately needed the points and we got ze points!!
