PLAYOFFS
I know I know, there’s still a part of me that is apprehensive about making the playoffs because it could overshadow some issues our team still has but still…ITS THE PLAYOFFS!! I’m really hoping the cards fall our way and we move out of the WC spot so that way we have time to rest up. But it depends on what happens Saturday and of course, what happens when we play Big Brother
Exactly
I realize that we should already be happy to be in the playoffs, but knowing where we’re seeded is so critical…the rest of the week up until Sunday afternoon is going to be a roller-coaster. I’ve already let my wife & kids know to leave me alone for the game
If you look at the schedule
It’s a total mess! I understand that you have to accommodate the international fixtures but having the conference championship games 3-4 days after the semis seems ridiculous to me.
It’s a disaster. The conference semis are screwed up too. Lower seeds are being rewarded with a Sat/Sun home match while the higher seeds will have to play their home leg on a Wed/Thur night. What’s the point of finishing higher in the standings if your home field advantage is taken away by a mid-week game?

This
is one of those factors that make the playoffs so unpredictable…but perhaps I’m just spinning this for MLS? I don’t need to do them any more favors :)
And I saw Ginge’s tweet about higher seeds getting the shaft as far as scheduling is concerned…Don G, can you please get this sorted out by next season? Come on, as it is teams that win the Supporters Shield are already moaning about not feeling rewarded enough, now you’re giving them more fuel?

Wow
I enjoy the playoff tournament and all that, but it’s hard to see just how much more screwed up this could be. And what’s even more amazing is that any 5-year-old who’s ever played any game could tell you how to run a tournament, how to bracket a tournament and how to select who plays who. At this point, just throwing them all into a box and and throwing darts and conducting the whole thing with arm wrestling would be a fairer system.
No wait, rock, paper, scissors. Seed and schedule it using a rock, paper, scissors contest. Or maybe they already have. THAT explains it.
