Game Thread: Dynamo v Galaxy (2011 - Match 34)

Gamethread_galaxy_medium

Houston Dynamo (11-9-13, 46 pts.) vs. LA Galaxy (19-4-10, 67 pts.)
Robertson Stadium - Houston, TX - 6:00pm CT

The regular season finale. The final regular season game (potentially last Dynamo game ever) played at Robertson Stadium. A chance to leapfrog the Columbus Crew and the Philadelphia Union and take over 2nd place in the Eastern Conference, bypassing the wildcard round. Yeah, this is kind of a big game.

Here's the playoff scenarios:

Dynamo win: Houston finishes 2nd place in East, plays the Union in a dual-leg tie with the second match in Houston.

Dynamo draw: Houston plays at Colorado in a wildcard match.

Dynamo loss: Houston plays at FC Dallas in a wildcard match.

Simple as that.

The field is so chewed up

There are going to be some ugly bounces and a lot of mistakes tonight

Adam Moffat has zero goals inside 30 yards this season.

Also, Adam Moffat has two goals this year.

ADAM MOFFAT!!!!!

Nice blast from 38 yards out

Anyone else think the Cruz yellow was harsh? He went up for a header similar to the yellow last week but didn’t lead with his shoulder. His back collided with the LA players chest.

somethin' ain't right

First no handball on Hejduk (which would’ve been a PK), then a fairly harsh yellow on Cruz? And then Hainault? Hopefully 2-0 will hold if the ref eases up

Nah...

The other two were good calls but Cruz had a harsh yellow I think.

Hopefully

Guh

MLS, can we just be consistent? I know I know, still a new-ish league but I figure the playoff structure is going to be there a while so let’s get it set, shall we?

Wooooooo Dynamo

Good time to be finding some decent form. 5 goals in 2 games. I like it.

YEAH!

How about Davis’s assist too? And the Moffat rocket? and a classic Boswell goal!

I think

anyone would’ve been shocked by Boz’ strike…I’m gonna watch it again this morning but wow, a turn and shoot?
