Should the Dynamo sell/trade Watson?
Hey guys,
I was looking around for transfer rumors and found these comments by JeVaughn Watson on MLS and they pompted me to think about what the Dynamo should do with him.
Honestly I often found myself cringing or yelling "no!!! what are you thinking!??! bring on clark or dixon!!!" when Dom would sub him on due to the red card, foolish yellows, and often just all round bad decision making. BUT, to be fair, he does have better feet than the majority of his teammates and surprised me with some good crosses and some great passes at times, not to mention great pace.
Watson signed in April of this past season and was not part of preseason. Furthermore, we were very much in a rebuilding state this season and Dom tried to get a consistent line up quickly, Watson simply did not get into the lineup very early (first 10 games) and never found good form due to lack of play. I think we should hold on to him, however if we trade him for somebody worthwhile I wont be overly disappointed. I also do not know how much his salary is nor how much it affects our cap space........
You guys think we should hold on to him?

My take
between whatever the heck is going on with Colin Clark, the growth of Danny Cruz and of course the potential that is Dixon I’d say we’re good on the right. In fact, aside from CAM the other position we should be targeting for a DP signing would be someone to play RM/RW. Between those two scenarios I think Watson is redundant, headaches aside. I do admit he has moments of creativity and quality but they are too few and far between to justify keeping him. Cruz is susceptible to bone-headed plays but at least makes up for it with consistent quality play and high-energy forays into enemy territory. Watson will do that when it strikes his fancy. To be honest, Dixon provides more than Watson does at this point, and Dixon still has a ways to go whilst Watson is what he is.
