Dynamo Looking to Offer Contracts to Jermaine Taylor and Evan Newton
Just a quick post to update you on some news about a couple potential roster moves for the Dynamo.
According to Dynamo president Chris Canetti's latest blog, the team is on the verge of a contract with Jamaican defender Jermaine Taylor, who arrived in town today.
In addition, the team is looking to sign goalkeeper Evan Newton, whom they selected in the Supplemental Draft. Newton would be the third keeper on the roster behind Tally Hall and Tyler Deric.
If both of these players are signed, it would leave four open roster spots, which Canetti says are reserved for midfielders and forwards.

One of which they hope is Brazilian.
As we all know by now. Worst kept secret…lol.
We should start spreading Kaka to Houston rumors

Careful Zach...
Now that there’s a “source”, it could very well become a true rumor. Heck, all I’d need is a current Dynamo player’s twitter to retweet the rumor and it’d be picked up by analysts all over :P
Hmm. Now that would be funny.
On a serious side note…I’m looking at Match Day Live for this upcoming season. Anybody here on DT familiar with the service?
I know a few people who had the Match Day Live service last season and while the idea was really good, there were apparently a lot of issues. Not sure what’s been done to improve the service this off season, but hopefully it works better.

Thanks for the heads up.
I may still get it, because they show and say it should be improved a lot this season from what I found and read (and since I can’t watch most of the Sounders games, either, whom I am a fan of as well… >.>).
I’ll try to keep running tabs for everybody on how good the quality is or isn’t, and what issues I run into. It always helps to have a guinea pig in the bunch.
You know, I wonder just how many MLS teams scouted the Caribbean Cup. Right now it looks like it was only the Orange one, judging by the number of players coming here. If just 1 or 2 of these guys pan out, Dynamo will really be ahead of the curve here.

When Dom was over in Brazil he scouted (personally I might add)
A “young Brazilian midfielder” with good pace and apparently the kid is able to create for teammates. The Dynamo have been mum on who it is, but I remember reading in a Ortiz blog on Chron.com that a Brazilian midfielder who fit the same basic description the Dynamo had of theirs was being courted by another team over in England (I don’t think it was EPL though).
With that said, I hope we land him. He wouldn’t be a DP, meaning we’d STILL have DP available for the summer push. He’d come here on a regular contract.
Maybe Zach’s heard something more by now?
Haven’t heard a word unfortunately
