Revs to acquire Feilhaber, but wait...
Found a source which suggests the Revs have used their #3 acquisition spot to grab Feilhaber. What I find interesting is they said without much brevity the Houston Dynamo have already made an offer to pick up Feilhaber. What do you say Orange Faithful, is Feilhaber the answer at CAM?

And along those same lines
What are you willing to give up? We know what Zach and Jordan would or wouldn’t.
I think I’d go as far as to say the only players I would not trade would be Davis, Koke, Bruin and Kofi. Yes, I’d give up Chinger in a heartbeat. How horrible am I?

Holy Shnikies!!!!
Trades always make me nervous… I hope we keep Cameron… I think he can develop to Feilhaber caliber if not better! Change is good but I think there is a time where too much change is bad —> (Rico and Stu leaving). Granted we didn’t get anything back but you know what i mean… I feel like we where starting to see some gelling even though we faced back to back depleted teams…. Im excited and a bit nervous about that possible change.
Feilhaber would be awesome but I hope we keep our core players (Davis, Koke, Cameron, Boswell, Hainault, Freeman, Ching)
Wouldn’t mind losing Palmer, Taylor, Ashe, Cruz, Weaver, Garey or Graye, Carr, Clark.
Feilhaber

Yeah...
Sorry, posting leads while actually doing other work is probably not good writing habits. Lol.

Give 'em Geoff Cameron
They can get Geoff and allocation money and we can get a much better midfielder in Benny.
or do nothing
and keep the team the same. We still haven’t seen the effects of Koke or Watson. Maybe if Benny would have come to us in the pecking order it would have been a no brainer, but if we have to give up too much may not be worth it after all.
@DynaNole – I thought of that this morning too: is it too much all at once? Could we perhaps see benefits over the course of the season without Feilhaber once Koke & Watson are in the team and have a few games under their belts? But then again, do you pass on proven talent that is still relatively young? Think about it, we’d have Koke, Feilhaber and Watson all potentially pushing the attack and all are in their prime years and we still have a rookie in Bruin. I say if its not at too high a cost (Davis) then you make the deal.
It’s amazing to think that on Friday when I heard the news about Feilhaber signing w/MLS that in the back of my mind I thought “…imagine if we added him to the mix” and here we are that this is actually a legitimate possibility!
I was actually thinking the same thing when I heard the Feilhaber news
That would be a huge leap quality-wise from where we were to where we would be. The draw for the new stadium next season would be phenomenal, and hell they’d easily be a contender this season. It remains to be seen if it will happen, but the Dynamo Front Office has proven they are on a rampage to make this team better.

New England is going to keep Feilhabar

I figured as much
But it’s fun to speculate sometimes.

Yeah, I just heard that as well. I think this is probably a good move for everyone. I would have dealt any of the following Chewie, Cruz, Palmer and Garey. I think the first three would meet needs that NER has right now, while Garey would be the dreaded PTBN (player to be named).
Still, with Koke and Watson coming, the midfield is getting a bit crowded right now anyway. Adding Feilhaber would have been a good thing, but it would be strengthening what is a strong and improving squad anyway.

Well,
I still think Koke plays that second striker role and Feilhaber would’ve been the immediate CAM coming in. Even still, without Feilhaber our lineup is solid and holds a lot of promise. Especially if Cameron can grow comfortable with Koke, or Koke can help Cameron make the leap we all hope he can.

Cruz
Danny has shown a lot of improvement and he is still very young. I think it would be a mistake to trade him.
People will disagree
But I think Cruz is up there talent-wise with Wondo, even still I’d trade Cruz in a heartbeat if it meant getting a proven commodity in Feilhaber.

I heard the offer we made was solid
But New England was asking a lot for Feilhaber, so it’s probably better in retrospect to hold onto the pieces we have and wait for the summer window to make our next big move.

And fair enough; to me the FO has shown that they’re serious about improving the squad and have made tangible steps. We had a great squad after adding Watson & Koke, we were just playing with house money after that in going for Feilhaber. Yes, I think he would’ve had a much more immediate impact but I’m glad the FO was able to walk when they felt the Revs were asking for too much.
Agree 100%

As I wrote to Dan Loney, what I am looking for is when the Revs beat both the Phunions and Goatlings on Benny goals. Actually, what I’m really looking for is Fraser and Nowak’s quotes after that happens.
Nonplussed about Dynamo not getting Feilhaber because as Mal Reynolds once said “You can’t miss a place you’ve never been.” (Of course, he was talking about Christina Hendricks at the time, and in regard to Feilhaber, that’s where the analogy tends to fall down.)
