You know what, at the time I’m writing this, it has been 15 hours and 17 minutes since the call, and there STILL has not been any handball from Lovel Palmer.
Just to make myself annoyed, I went back and watched the highlights again. Disgusting.

I’ve been in a rotten mood all day about that call

I am cheered up a slight bit to know Cameron will be moved back to CB while Hainault and Taylor attend Gold Cup duties...
Honestly, this makes me hope Jamaica and Canada have a long run through the Gold Cup. Cameron has been most comfortable at CB in his career, and I believe he could easily displace Hainault or Taylor back there on a more permanent basis, or at least displace Lovel who continues to prove he is mediocre at best.
My question is now who moves into the CAM role? Is it Koke or someone else? It will be interesting to see.

Has to be Koke or Dixon. Watson would work but he’s gone too for the Gold Cup. I think it’s reasonable to expect Koke in the midfield with Bruin/Weaver up front…or Ching if he can get healthy. Not sure if the coaches think Dixon is ready to carry that load yet, but you never know.

I agree
I think it’s time to put an end to the Geoff Cameron experiment. He’s not doing us any service in midfield. He’s usually looking to receive a ball instead of looking to create. I’m glad the Gold Cup is coming so we’ll be able to slot him in at the back and not bench him and completely destroy his confidence. However, I don’t think we need him to be replacing Hainault-he’s doing solid back there. Watson has not impressed me as a winger, in fact he has really pissed me off. Walking in the 80th minute when you came on late and we’re a goal down-unacceptable. The best I saw him was at CAM, but even then he was giving away cheap balls. He has yet to convince me. Koke at CAM, Bruin and Weaver up top, Cameron CB, and Chabala at LB-that’s what I hope to see this Saturday. Chewy looked good when he came on against NYRB and I felt the team lift a bit.
I don't see that as a done deal
I don’t think they would throw out the possibility if it wasn’t at least in the cards.
I also wonder if the injury has anything to do with why Cameron has seemed to have lost the ability to strike a ball any other way than to curl it with the outside of the foot. I might be exaggerating in this in my own mind, but I swear I can’t remember him striking the ball any other way than with the outside of his right foot for weeks. Other than short quick passes of course.

What irks me most...
is in regards to the remark I made last night, mainly this: if you’re the ref and you feel fully convinced that it was clearly a handball and you’re confident enough to give the team a penalty kick then fair enough, make that call. But even with the benefit of replay it would be very difficult to award that penalty…so how could you possibly do so in real-time?? And as to what you’ve both (and others) have previously said, there’s no consistency in officiating: its either a rugby match or a touch-foul game, no in-between.
The playoffs will have at least two major controversies that will come down to officiating, mark it down now
