Right in front of me

That was a horrible call. Yellow at the most

by Waldorf00 on Jul 16, 2011 8:51 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

We just got absolutely screwed over

That was the worst officiating I have ever seen

by Waldorf00 on Jul 16, 2011 9:37 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

Incredibly harsh

So definite yellows on both, but straight reds, really??? F*** the officials. There, I said it.

Oh, and Tally Hall was in beast mode tonight, and Sporting KC should be ashamed to go home with a point after the refs gifted them the game.

Time for a drink

Great effort by the boys. That was a gritty performance. Would have been an epic win

I swear..

if I ran into Tally Hall, I’d buy the man drinks forever. That was an epic display, aside from the one ball that hit him in the face (and that was a combination of the bounce plus the guy who was coming right in front of him) that was an All-Star performance. And the defending was heroic, its just unlucky that KC equalized off a deflection. But again, they should’ve never been given the chance because of the farcical refs.

Final Score

Houston Dynamo: 1 Referee: 1

Despite the ref’s best efforts Kansas City still didn’t win. It baffles me how the MLS continues to find worse and worse referees. How can he be so quick to grab a red card on both of those fouls?? Like said above, those were both YELLOWS at most.

After the replays

I still can’t see how Clark’s is a straight red (however reckless it was) but Ching’s foul was really unnecessary and I can understand the red on that.

My quick assessment (more to come tomorrow in my followup)

I rescind any hatred toward Ashe I’ve had, he was stellar tonight. He had a few lapses, but then again, a lot of defenders do. He didn’t cost us the 3 points, and so I applaud him and his effort.

I watched and rewatched the original straight red to Colin Clark, I still don’t buy it as a straight red. The second one on Ching while even with me being a whole lot biased toward Orange jerseys, I still agree with the call. Ching was swinging with intent to make contact with player and not the ball. Also…that was the same guy who drew the first red card. That SKC player is an arse and should be shown yellows for how he played everything up to the fullest (especially since he bounced right up after he found out from his teammates reds had been shown). You could tell he was never near as injured as he acted, nor was he ever close to being injured.

I do agree, the officiating was piss-poor, but we really can’t say it anymore without beating the horse further into the ground. It sucks, but it’s the way it is for now.

I’ll be posting the follow-up tomorrow after I have a chance to sleep on this result. Right now, I’m content with the single point. Going down 9 men when we shouldn’t have been is ridiculous, but the boys fought valiantly and came away with a justified result.

Formation

What was the formation?

4-2-3-1? 4-5-1?

hall; ashe, taylor, hainault, sarkodie; cameron, watson; clark, davis, cruz; ching.

ching deserved a red card. clark did not

Disallowed Goal

Did anyone get a good look on our goal that was disallowed for a supposed offside? I couldn’t see it from my seat, Rob. stadium didn’t show a full replay, and it wasn’t included in the game highlights on the mls website. Does anyone know if it was a good call or not?

clark was in a offside. position

He could have also been called for interference…though that was minimal. He didn’t really effect the play, but he kinda kicked his leg at the ball (maybe to avoid touching it) so i can’t complain. Unfortunate though

Yeah, Clark was called for playing the ball...

Even though he didn’t have a need to unfortunately.
