A huge thanks to NewTex for taking the photographs and allow me to post them here.

Drove by there the other day and could scarcely contain my glee. Check out these pics I took of the site way back when in 2008.

Of course, we still need a nickname for the place. I’m still leaning toward “Dowling Street,” though I also like “Orange Grove,” “East End” and, quite simply, “Home.”

My oh my
That’s some nice stuff you’ve got there on the site there young Martek…what a hidden gem it is. Oh, and nice pics too :)
As for names any of those will do quite nicely…I kinda like Dowling Street & East End, with unofficial names being Orange Grove (not to be shortened to its douche-ier, west coast version, The Grove) or – even deeper – The Old 1836 (or more simply, The 1836)
Awesome
“Hey want to go to the East End!” I’ll be saying that proudly next year :D

Stadium Nickname
I’ve always wished that Houston sports teams would recognize the fact that Texas Independence was won here, not 15 miles from where they play their games. I thought we had it in “1836” but obviously it wasn’t meant to be. I’d like something along the lines of “The Battleground” or “Camp Houston.” I really want to make a “The Hou Camp” joke, but I got nothin.
