I think it Cameron has been much better recently
…but they shouldn’t confuse one wonderful goal and a win over a team that was clearly exhausted from the first whistle with being able to consistently build an attack through the midfield.
I do think we’ve played much better lately, and confidence can go a long way, so I don’t want to be too negative. Still, praying for set pieces or that one good bounce from a loose ball in the box is a tough way to win consistently if you have trouble building a consistent attack.

Causality
Look, we’ve had much better form and results the past couple of matches and I think there’s quite a number of factors in those results…but to say that Cameron is leading the attack or anything like that is adding 2+2 to get 5. Yes, he’s been playing better but I haven’t seen any evidence lately that suggests that he is getting better or is going to get better or is the one to lead the attack.
I admit I was one of those calling for him at DM or even one of the wide midfield spots but its time to abandon that and put him back where he belongs: CB. In fact, now is the perfect time to put him back there: we have a DM who is showing he can possess and pass as well as defend (Moffat), we now have a midfielder (Camargo) who is capable of possessing and passing as well as linking up with both the defense and the forwards/wings (although this is more projection as we actually haven’t seen him play with the Dynamo, but based on the evidence at hand). So what better time to put in an agile, strong defender who is also capable of thwarting an attack AND starting a counter with his speed and passing? We have all the pieces in place, so why start gum it up continuing an experiment that yielded muddled to modest results, at best?
I’m not trying to be too negative either and I really, really like Cam and I can see why we tried him there but its time to move him back to shore up the defense and give Klinsmann more food for thought
Agreed
Time to figure out where’s he’s gonna play NEXT yr, and put him there now. Perhaps this is a Ladbrokes betting scheme with odds on where Cameron will play next.
Muzakal chairs, anyone?
Where’s Paul the Octo when ya need him?
You sly dog
The Ladbrokes scenario is a brilliant one, and one I can get behind. If we’re playing the odds here then keep him at CAM until the next game and then shift him…..where? We’re taking bets ;-)
Adu
I thought we were high up in the allocation order, were we not even in line to get this one? He would be a good attacking option, but I just don’t see Dom going for someone with his skill set.
I wanted us to see about getting Adu here last year.
….but I don’t think he went through the allocation order. Chivas was going to make him a DP and keep their top spot in the allocation order. I would assume that Philly did the same thing. Although, I haven’t seen it confirmed and I think Philly was ahead of us anyway.

The allocation order was Chivas USA, Philly, Dynamo…Chivas passes and the Union signed him. Dynamo move up to #2 but the chances are slim of another national team player coming back to MLS before the order gets reset. We’ll see.
