His Paperwork still hasn't cleared, I don't think he's even in Houston yet

MMMMMMMOOOOOOOOOOOOFFFFFFFFFAAAAAAAAAATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Goal of the Week!!!!!!!

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:24 PM CDT reply actions

MOFFAT!!!!!!!! oh shit!!! lets hope that he doesnt end up like palmer and never making another one LOL

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:25 PM CDT reply actions

that was about 40 yards at least. top corner

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:26 PM CDT reply actions

Broadcast is saying about 35 yards.

Guessing the football lines aren’t that helpful at the moment.

by TSSaloic on Aug 14, 2011 8:27 PM CDT up reply actions

now ay that was 35 man, just watching the replay that is only 15 yards or so from the halfway line

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:28 PM CDT reply actions

I still think that Hassli goal was better

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:30 PM CDT up reply actions

There have been a lot of good goals this year. New York will be voting for Agudelo, White Caps have Hassli, Portland has one as well (i think it was Jewsbury) that I liked a lot (juggle and then shot). There are a couple more that I cannot remember at the moment and I know there are a few other goals just like Moffat’s goal so I doubt it is going to be a real contender for goal of the season, but for sure it is goal of the week.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:19 PM CDT up reply actions

Correction it was Darlington Nagbe who made the goal from Portland.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:23 PM CDT up reply actions

Goal from Ching!!!!

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:34 PM CDT reply actions

pretty strong tackle by palmer, what a dick head

thats why ching just gives him a dirty look then scores on them after clark nut megged palmer.

haha, fuck portland

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:35 PM CDT reply actions

Exactly. Palmer is such an ass for doing that

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:37 PM CDT up reply actions

it was clean

It was hard too, but he didn’t do anything dirty

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 8:40 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

I know its clean

but still I haven’t seen him tackle like that before

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:41 PM CDT up reply actions

I saw him do it plenty of times while he was still in houston. Usually he made worst fouls that got a yellow or a red.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:43 PM CDT up reply actions

i agree it was a clean tackle

just surprised how hard he went in when he def. didnt need to, especially considering his ex team mate (and captain) is the guy he went into

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:44 PM CDT up reply actions

im sorry

I’m not going to get mad at a guy for a clean tackle. He’s probably a little amped up, just like moffat, but that’s expected. If he still played for Houston and half assed the tackle against a premier sticker and it led to a shot on goal I would crucify him.

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 8:50 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

WOW

Clark made Mr. Backpass his bitch lol

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:35 PM CDT reply actions

indeed, but mr backpass thought he would save some energy and let the opposing opponents make the pass in that direction.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Thanks for the first genuine laugh I’ve had in quite a bit.

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:38 PM CDT up reply actions

Houston got the better of the deal with Portland?

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:37 PM CDT reply actions

i think you can make a case that it worked iut for both teams

We upgraded our DM spot. They were able to improve their back four… which was a mess. I think we got the better player and less salary, but it wasn’t a completely one sided trade

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 8:44 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

I don’t know. Using palmer in their starting line up weakens their midfield quite a bit, just as the dynamo’s midfield was weakened while he was playing for them.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:46 PM CDT up reply actions

but he's not playing midfield for portlabd?

He’s playing his more natural, imo, rb spot…or am I misunderstanding your point

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:01 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Also Palmer is a DM or RB

I misunderstand what you mean by weakened maybe since they’re both defensive positions. Palmer should have taken more shots this year. Moffat brought back what Palmer was doing last season.

by Gribbs on Aug 14, 2011 10:36 PM CDT up reply actions

However, I do agree with Chewy. A big improvement for them there.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:47 PM CDT up reply actions

haha, dude i still cant beleive his tackle on ching.

what an ass. moffat is much more effective than palmer ever was. he was more likely to see red than score a goal or even make 10 good tackles a game and get out without a yellow

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:40 PM CDT reply actions

dumbass Palmer

glad he’s not with us anymore with that kind of loose ball

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:44 PM CDT reply actions

GGOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAALLL!!!!

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:49 PM CDT reply actions

I don’t think so. Looks like the ball was all the over in the replays. The ball did not go out when cameron made the pass back in.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:52 PM CDT up reply actions

Though I do know my eyes and my feed are not that good, so I could be easily wrong

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:54 PM CDT up reply actions

too close for me to say

I thought it was before the replay, but now I don’t know.

by Gribbs on Aug 14, 2011 10:37 PM CDT up reply actions

How was that not a goal. beautiful play by cameron and ching there. But toledo fucks up again.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:49 PM CDT reply actions

that was over the line!!!!!

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:50 PM CDT reply actions

that was close

Ching should have made that a no doubter.

Just saw replay. I don’t think it was in. Needed better finish

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 8:52 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

Agree

It was super close but he really should have done better with that

by Dynamaniac on Aug 15, 2011 12:44 AM CDT up reply actions

unbelievably close

Ching should have done a better job on that.

good first half overall

by DD77DD on Aug 14, 2011 8:54 PM CDT reply actions

i agree

though costly looks like ching keeps takin his space haha

they need to work that shit out soon

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 8:55 PM CDT reply actions

Not surprising considering they have very similar styles in their play. Both would benefit from having a speedy forward running off of them.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:56 PM CDT up reply actions

seriously

I feel like they take each others place

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 8:57 PM CDT up reply actions

Cameron seems to have massively improved in the last few games at the CAM position, Anyone else agree?

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 8:59 PM CDT reply actions

i give a lot of credit to moffat on that

He’s still not a natural in that spot though

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:02 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

I agree the addition of Moffat has helped him, but given the opportunity and not having to cover for Palmer seems to really show that he can at least play there to some degree versus being a total disaster. Not the ideal CAM, but he is showing the ability to play there to some degree.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:05 PM CDT up reply actions

that really might have been the best half of soccer all year

we moved the ball really well. played creatively. besides sketchy defense a few times i am really happy

we played damn good that Seattle game though

by Waldorf00 on Aug 14, 2011 9:00 PM CDT reply actions

That and passing in a forward direction, staying on the field, holding the ball, and putting his shots on frame.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:09 PM CDT up reply actions

not having to constantly recover the ball is the reason cameron is doing well right now. however i think that camargo should still be given a shot there when his papers come in

by nicolai on Aug 14, 2011 9:08 PM CDT reply actions

either way he gives us depth at CM

Right now our only option for either central midfield spot is Watson

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:13 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Anyone else notice the number of goals the dynamo have gotten from the run of play in recent games? Perhaps there is a trend building that the team has become more than a 1 dimensional attack?

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:13 PM CDT reply actions

Dangit Portland scored. I missed what happened, Anyone mind explaining?

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:22 PM CDT up reply actions

Costly out?

why take him out so early? Does Dom have an affair with Weaver?

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 9:22 PM CDT reply actions

you might have a good reason then

Then I’m happy for the move if that’s the case

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 9:25 PM CDT up reply actions

davis said he hasnt played much lately

With the heavy schedule good to rest him. Like to see another goal and get ching or Davis some rest

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:29 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

dom will probably pull ching

and put a midfielder in to park the bus later in the game too

by Waldorf00 on Aug 14, 2011 9:27 PM CDT reply actions

I hope not, unless we have at least a 2 goal lead

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:29 PM CDT up reply actions

I don’t think Costly was playing bad tonight. He was trying to get himself involved a lot which is something we didn’t see a lot from former forwards that failed

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 9:33 PM CDT reply actions

Wait Watson in for Clark. Who is playing RM?

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:34 PM CDT reply actions

Didn;t know Watson played RM as well.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:35 PM CDT up reply actions

Well he is currently playing there now. So we shall see.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:38 PM CDT up reply actions

watson played out wide quite a bit when he first got here

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:50 PM CDT via mobile up reply actions

Guess I forgot that. Maybe I need to see a doctor.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 10:01 PM CDT up reply actions

O Freeman, just got some nice cleets in his ankle there. That has to hurt.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:43 PM CDT reply actions

WHAT A SAVE BY THE WALL!!!

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:48 PM CDT reply actions

If houston gets the 3 points today, all the defenders owe tally a few dinners and beers.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:49 PM CDT reply actions

Moffat's Mafia!

Did anybody see that sign? lol

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 9:50 PM CDT reply actions

Haha!

Some kid had a sign saying “Moffat’s Mafia! Come out shooting”

by RedAce on Aug 14, 2011 9:51 PM CDT up reply actions

HA, that is halarious

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:52 PM CDT up reply actions

boswell almost cost us another one

"If my hips had pockets, I wouldn't wear pants at all." @NotBurtReynolds

by papabear on Aug 14, 2011 9:50 PM CDT via mobile reply actions

Bout time we start looking to replace boswell from the starting line up permanently? The past two seasons have been stuffed with mistakes from him leading to goals.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:51 PM CDT up reply actions

Who tried to do a bicycle kick to clear that? Cam Weaver? What the hell, try doing that on the other end you crack filled crazy man.

by Carl Morandi on Aug 14, 2011 9:54 PM CDT reply actions

Good win!

Score could have been much higher, but 3 points is 3 points. Goals could have been scored by nearly everyone on the field including the subs (maybe save Taylor but he came in late).

Super happy!
