Wow, what game was that?

Reading the Salt Lake Tribune story now and am wondering exactly which game Martin Renzhofer was watching. I think he may have played it on FIFA 11 or something and reported on that.

Things he got right: The score. Boswell’s goal.
Things he got wrong:
He said that Alex Dixon’s goal was in the upper right corner. Actually, it was about knee-high when it went in, curving low around Rimando.
Ching’s equalizer. In the actual game, Ching put in in front of goal after a nifty move and pass from Brad Davis. In Renzhofer’s FIFA 11 version, “Brian Ching scored the equalizer for Houston with a laser 35 yards from goal.”
Luis Gil’s miss, which he said would have given RSL a two-goal advantage. Actually, at the time he missed it, it would only have put RSL up one. You can’t assume he would have scored the other.

As for Canetti, eagle-eyed Jose de Jesus Ortiz, looking at the video of Dixon’s goal, spotted Canetti and VP Rocky Harris in their customary late-game position behind the boards over behind the goals on the north side. When Dixon’s goal went in (check the vid. It’s awesome), Rocky and Chris are jumping, spinning and high-fiving. It’s great.

With Camargo coming in to play, for whom does he play? I’m thinking JeVaughn Watson has been woeful, but I am not finding a lineup that has both Moffat and Camargo in it, even if Cameron moves back to CB. That is unless Camargo can play CAM.

The HOU v RSL match...

…as done by Taiwanese animators. Wow, I didn’t read that write-up but clearly I missed out on this fantasy version. Either he pulled this info indirectly or as you said, he made his own FIFA 11 version. I personally like the FIFA version, adds something extra, doesn’t it? :)

And I didn’t want to beat that dead horse as I have become a sort of town crier for that, but I mean really, what are we going to do with him? We’ve apparently been hot on his trail for months, we finally get him……….and we already have a DM who’s doing a pretty damn good job for us. I suppose this week’s practice will tell that tale, and I wish that we could get reports on that. I think the two can play together, but only if Camargo shows he is a more “advanced” version of Moffat in the sense that he possesses and passes better. Of course, we find ourselves asking what to do about Cameron, and its a fair question given our situation.

I’ve said recently that I think Cameron should move back to CB now and keep Moffat at DM and put Camargo as a deep CAM (I guess the best way of putting it is a central midfielder who would play in a more advanced role up the pitch but not necessarily an attacking role). But again, I suppose that depends on how he does in training and if Dom even tries that during training. I’m simply speculating. I guess the conundrum is Camargo doesn’t seem to have a high motor in the sense that he’s not going to be running all over from box to box: he strikes me that he’d let Moffat handle from our box to maybe the top of the circle and Camargo would start from the bottom of the circle and maybe work to the top of the opposing box. And that’s fine by me, because we brought in Camargo to help win balls, keep them and then use his technique to distribute smartly wide or to the forwards. Cameron, of course, while he’s not crap in the midfield his technique there isn’t the best but he makes up for it with his speed and motor: he has the ability to go box-to-box and be just fine. So what do we do? Do we go with the less technical but likely more active Cameron or go with the more technical but less active Camargo? Watson isn’t even an option at this point as CAM; if we put him in as RM maybe, but even then only as a sub.

I’d love to see Cameron move back to CB because I know he would’ve prevented that header Gil put on us to go ahead 2-1 on Saturday…again, I think he “completes” Hainault, and we’re going to need that if we’re going to make the playoffs and attempt to do something there.

PS – play, nice spot of Gil in your “Be the GM” post…he looks to be very quality, as we clearly saw

But who goes out @ CB?

In Boz’s favor, he’s scored 4 times, 1 less than Ching and tied for 2nd among Dynamo- sharing this with more offensive players- Weaver, Bruin, Cameron.

True but...

is that simply a matter of being tall and in the right place (considering our offensive players are probably drawing considerable attention)? I mean, I’ve got nothing against Boz but let me put it like this: if I have to choose 2 of the following three players for my CB positions, which ones am I choosing:

-Andre Hainault
-Bobby Boswell
-Geoff Cameron

If its me, its Cam and ‘Dre. He’s still good but he doesn’t crack the line-up given those options and frankly he’s surplus at this point…maybe another team in more dire defensive straits would be willing to trade to get him? Me not know.

But I will say that’s an intriguing statistic about him. Say, any team want a scoring CB? ;-)
