Time to take it to Columbus!
Show them that all their hospitality for letting our players stay there an extra night or two will come back to haunt them!!!
Cameron is in the defense at last

Yo si le voy, le voy al naranja!
Something VERY different!
/take that MichaelD =P
I'm not necessarily disagreeing
with starting Taylor at RB but I do hope we’ve got Freeman or Hainault on tap…and VERY interesting choice to go with Watson instead of Clark on the right. It may either be an inspired move or he might be yanked by halftime
ekpo is such an idiot
that was ridiculous!! haha, now if this ends 1-1 i will really feel terrible. Though i think we look up for it, even watson haha.
CAMARGO, looks like a good signing so far. Moffat is one of my favorite players, he always looks pretty pissed and intense.
Glad to see Bruin back, he really is dangerous. that injury, and the last 15 minutes really made me realize what a great rookie he is.
Watson has some of the best footwork on this team
When he decides to show it off
Starting to look a little better
Still not moving forward as well as I’d like, but all good things come to those who wait right?
Damn
I’m off at 8. Is the game good so far? How’s Camargo as CAM?

He's doing pretty well
Still needs more time with the team to completely become effective. Overall we’re doing pretty well, and to any nay sayers that credit the early red card…the 11 minutes before were strong also =D
Anybody else noticing how the ball is moving???
Not like it’s getting caught in clumps of mud, grass, or anything like that. The ball isn’t dead!
/suck it KC field
Worst. Pitch. Ever
I play in city parks that are better shape than that “professional” pitch over in KC
I still don't like how often we pass it backwards
instead of moving forward…and we’re up a man
Bad habits
the more we keep this line-up I think the more we’ll see that habit disappear…really liking our movement and passing
We get a lot of this movement when Watson is in I think
Still up a man, I’d like to see more penetrating runs and less backtracking. This is on par with our movement at Vancouver..maybe just above.
Either way I like the result so far!
Could be
either force of habit (we’re back-pass kings at this point) or Dom’s orders to keep it easy and simple…time is on our side right now. I’d much rather keep those runs going because Crew looks like they can be caught out again. Between Camargo, Watson, Bruin and Weaver (plus Moffat’s occasional shots) we’re keeping their defenders moving all over
It'll take time
as he incorporates more into the team but I’m really liking his presence, passing and positioning already.
Hmmmm
I saw the goal and Watson still doesn’t convince me (of course I’m happy we’re wining we need the 3 points!!!) but Taylor at RB looks great and I loved that cross! :D

The goal was awesome =P
But I am surprised how well Taylor is looking at RB especially after a poor showing at CB.
Jamaica Boyz are doing pretty well tonight. Trying to make future lineups more challenging to come up with
Could've sworn
he played at RB for the JMNT and perhaps at his former club…but he’s actually not bad there. Could be also playing with Boz & Cameron in the middle but hey, it’s a pretty good combo with him & Watson on the right
I agree
The center is more or less covered..I’ve seen a mistake or two by Cameron and one by Boz..still no goals conceded mean I’m still a happy camper. I think Watson and Taylor are comfortable playing together and are okay moving forward. Very unusual, yet smart lineup. It’s working so far at any rate.
/knockonwood
Yeah
I expect there to be some wobbles but on the whole its a much more comfortable, sound defensive unit out there and its showing in how forward they’re playing (it helps that the Crew have basically retreated to the final third of the field)
1st Half Notes
Regardless of Ekpo’s Antics, I’m really happy with what I’m seeing so far:
-Much more movement by our midfield players
-Playing much higher up the pitch than I’ve seen in a while
-Lots of passing and trying to keep it on the ground (again, haven’t seen that in a while)
-Cameron at the back is quick and helping us play higher up to keep pressure on COL
-His passing out of the back is fantastic and helping to start several attacks
-Aside from sometimes bad service, Taylor is actually playing pretty well at RB
-Watson is either playing for redemption, a new contract/team or is truly trying to make amends
-Its so nice having Bruin back…he’s a bit rusty but very, very active
I’d be absolutely thrilled to get one more, but I’ll take the current result. If we keep up our play I think we’ll hold them off. Though I do think given the current state of play we’d be the odds-on favorite to put another in the net. Let’s keep it up fellas!!
I would not be surprised if we open the flood gates on this one
So many players REALLY want a goal. Bruin, Ashe, Moffat, Davis, Watson, Taylor…just to name a few of the players that have taken shots. We’re figuring ourselves out right now, once we figure out Columbus…well I’m hoping to see a few spectacular goals
Seriously I thought the guy who dove in
clipped a few people on his BS diving “header?”
Bruin out for Carr
Too bad Bruin didn’t score but it was nice to see him playing well. Maybe he’ll get 90 Saturday
pinche pu** de referee

But none called when he gets tangled up in multiple Crew players…hmmmmmm

Cameron got shoved while on the ground
…just saying
We're still drawing after having a man advantage for nearly the entire game
Sorry, but it’s true.

Really ref?
Two PK call’s for Columbus in a matter of minutes, then we get NOTHING after an obvious handball
We're not winning a road game in 2011

Ok so columbus was a man down and we still couldn’t win?

Recap
They went a man down and parked the bus…we kept pressuring. Watson showed why he was Watson: great play coupled with dozing off defensively to cede a penalty. The first PK call was a crap handball call (which ironically Columbus did the same thing near the end of the game. No call, of course) and then they called another 12 minutes later on Watson for a high kick in the box. And that’s mostly what the Crew did all game. We had 70% possession, but 2 plays changed it all. Carr saved it with a lovely finish
Seriously how do the MLS refs (and refs in general) keep getting away with this?????
I want conspiracy theories here!!
I guess we should be grateful
that we’re not in CONCACAF play. They probably would’ve sent off 2 players and awarded another penalty.
That being said, I’d gladly take European cast-off refs at this point
I’m not going to blame the referee. Dynamo didn’t do enough to win. Couldn’t effectively break down a 10-man Crew for 80+ minutes.

But
come on Ginge, that first call was a very, very iffy call. And if that goes as a PK, why not the one at the end by Columbus? Other than that, we had a defensive lapse…I will say that Camargo played very well and wish he could’ve kept up the pressure in the middle. He was probably the best shot of unlocking that D. Though pairing Carr while he was in might’ve been an inspired match too, as if we had someone who could latch on to a through ball would’ve been nice. Sigh.
We are Odysseus
Though
I guess yeah to sum it up, while we played very well it wasn’t enough to win. Even against 10-man Columbus (and MLS Officiating)
We tried to keep possession rather than take chances
I almost always disagree with that tactic, but being up a goal and a man I thought it was good for the team. Yeah not enough to win but not because of their tactics or both individual or team efforts. We didn’t win because of 2 VERY suspect pk calls.
I'll blame them
There is no way that 2 suspect pk calls is okay. The team tried to control the game through possession rather than take a few risks. Being up both a man and a goal, I’ll go ahead and support that tactic. But 2 BS calls and we’re down…only took 2..yeah let’s blame them
I’m not going to blame him for the tie as much as I am going to criticize his performance. First of all, in the 11th minute he could have just as easily given Ekpo a yellow and I don’t think anyone would have complained. It would have made for a much more balanced game. Since he chose to give out a straight red, he lost the Crew’s cooperation (hence all the late tackles and shoving). Then in the second half, he gives two soft penalties losing Houston’s cooperation. I think most people will agree that the first was very harsh, and considering the terrible dive/attempt to make contact with ball (I don’t really know what the thought process was), calling a handball on Weaver was very harsh. There’s something I like to think to myself when trying to view handballs objectively and most people will agree that handballs are “hand to ball, not ball to hand”. It also looked like it hit Weaver’s upper arm, and I’ve always been in the camp of elbow down for handballs. The second penalty, against Watson is definitely less controversial. WTF was Watson was thinking?!?! I was glad to see Watson pulled immediately, but disappointed there was no heart to heart between him and Kinnear. I case can be made that many refs in the league will not call that, but honestly if that is your best argument, you have no evidence whatsoever to support that the penalty should have been called. I have no problem with the second penalty objectively, but as far as my support for Houston goes that was definitely the point where I wanted to throw something at my TV, and hope it hits either Watson, Mendoza, or the ref. (Mendoza if not only for the fact that he was gifted 2 goals.)

For me
I suppose one could argue, probably unsuccessfully, about the second PK though I guess its more the principle than anything. Most MLS officials will give you one PK a game, and it better be justifiable…we somehow get 2 against us in the span of 12 minutes? Really?? And again, consistency: if the first PK was for that handball, the same happened (lower, actually) in the dying minutes by Columbus and the ref…didn’t point to the spot. Also, the “handball” didn’t catch my attention as much as the Crew player flying over the back of a Dynamo player on that same play. But yes, please, focus on the handball. Sorry to focus on the calls rather than our play. Yes, we didn’t go for the kill but in our defense, we had a lead on the road against a 10-man team. I think most times we’d say that’s a fairly sound strategy, especially with a stronger defensive unit out there. Isn’t that sad? Our defense actually played very well but it was our forward and RM responsible for giving up the goals. I don’t even know what to say other than its time to get our team an egg to put under every player’s pillow
/hope someone understands what that means
