Around SBN: Bob Sapp Denies Throwing Fights

I was looking at previous FanPosts because I think they provide an interesting snapshot of the prevailing zeitgeist, at least back then. Interesting to note how some of the same issues still seem to be there, whilst some issues are new. Just thought it was interesting, that's all

Nother Boz prospect

As we have shopped poor Boz’s salary all around that fantasy league in our heads (they’re coming to take us awaaaay- HA HA!)- take note of NE having a 3-1 lead through halftime away at Philly….

NE (and stilll looking at the Goats) might be another prosect for that glaring 210k Sorry, Bobby, you seem to be a great character and good passing centerback, but for a team lacking the cap room to sign that great scoring forward or attacking mid, we may need to relocate you…

Sad but true

We had talked about this some time ago but that as the season went on that windows of opportunity could open up…and I believe this is one, but it won’t last long. We’re seeing teams getting exposed defensively, particularly at CB and it just so happens that we have a CB that is relatively quick (I know what I said before but shush, I’m trying to make a sale here) and is surplus to our needs. Both the Revs & the Goats are having issues at the back and Boz could be a great fit for either one. And, we could maybe take a forward or midfielder off their hands, or just simply open up cap space. This can happen but of course that’s all up to the FO…oh, and I believe the roster freeze deadline is 15 September, so we’ve got a week to make something happen.

Knowing us, we’re gonna keep Boz at the back either paired with Hainault or Cameron. I dearly hope that Camargo shows Dom this week he’s ready to start so that he can trot out Cameron again at CB. If that’s the case then I think they realize we can live without Boz, but we’d have to have a plan in place to move him and act fast. Can they or will they do it?

Depends on results

If we do well in next 2 games, I can understand us staying pat (though I don’t agree). But if we lose, the market value to a team going in to the playoffs or on the cusp- RSL, Goats, whoever… is much higher.

Its why

these next 2 games are critical: if we win or win-draw then I feel he is surplus and another team will likely need him more than we will (NER or Goats). If we lose or lose-draw then we’ll probably hold on to him because it would be deemed that we need him more than another team would. Though as you note, if we crash and burn but another team is heading into the playoffs and needs a good defender, he’d be a great boost. But it is definitely an opportunity to free up ~$200K in cap space, and that ain’t chump change.

FO: WHY U NO TRADE?
