Dynamo still negotiating with Ibeagha
In this report for Fox Soccer regarding various news and notes from the MLS SuperDraft, Ives Galarcep reported the following: "The Houston Dynamo continue to negotiate with Academy product and US Under-23 national team defender Sebastian Ibeagha but have yet to reach an agreement with the Duke standout. Ibeagha has been impressing with the U-23 team and would be a major off-season score for the Dynamo." This would be a great step to generating some much-needed depth along the back line. Or would it? Maybe too much depth? Maybe Ibeagha becomes trade bait? What do you think?

He has this note:
One forward who may make his way back into MLS is former Chicago Fire standout Chris Rolfe. Sources tell FOX Soccer that Rolfe is looking to return to MLS, but it is unclear whether the league and Rolfe will be able to agree on contract terms.
If Dynamo could sign him, we could have both Rolfes (not related) on the roster, which has a certain symmetry to it, eh?

Too much depth?
With ERob retiring? I don’t see the downside of coming to terms- though his price range might be outside their scope- a la the disenchantment with Cruz’s salary. I felt going with Cruz’s option year was a no brainer as is signing Ibeagha. Granted, both might be a bit pricey, but the upside is much better than the down. Cruz was not a flop but can recall a few much higher priced duds…
I know. You can never have too much depth. Personally, I hope they sign Ibeagha. If anything, it keeps pressure on Bobby Boswell, and we al know that boy just plays better when there’s pressure on him.
camp starts in a week, and by this time next week, we might see some big things happening. Here’s hoping the Kris Boyd deal works out. I think he’d be great.

Yup
I love our defense but we all saw that Boz can be vulnerable at the back and he’s probably got another season or two at this level and then he will significantly taper off in effectiveness. We should be grooming our CBs of the future starting this season, and I can see that as Ibeagha and perhaps after this season signing one or both of our home-growns, either Matt Boullt or CJ Odinegwe
