So yesterday or so the Dynamo put out an article interviewing Dom on his and Steve Ralston's recent trip overseas to The Islande to go a-scoutin' and take in a few games. The link is here:
So while I'm eating lunch I'm reading the MLS site and in their Kick-Off section they've got quite the list of news from around the league and globe, and about halfway down the page are two interesting nuggets:
Here’s another name to throw into the offseason hot stove: St. Johnstone forward Francisco Sandaza claims he has offers from clubs in MLS.
And
Also, Mexican playmaker Adolfo "Bofo" Bautista is still holding out hope that an MLS team comes calling for his services. (SPANISH)
Now why do I bother writing about any of this? Because firstly, it just so happens Dom was in the area just a while ago and mentioned scouting players that they would like to bring over. Didn't specifically say who or which teams, but we do happen to need a forward and we could do worse than Sandaza; his salary is around the DP mark but not a massive one.
In the second note regarding Bofo, his preference is to come to MLS and considering FCD just inked a couple of players I'd imagine they're set in terms of signings and I think he would be more interested in LAG rather than the other way around, I do think in terms of level of talent he'd be an interesting fit here as a CAM. Now yes, he is older (32!!) and he is likely a DP and we know the last time we gambled on Mexican talent, we got the "Fluffy Scorpion" Landin, but again, simply a thought.
Anyhoo, its likely nothing will come of this rampant speculation but nevertheless, in these gray and heady times of the offseason isn't this fun? No? Guess not
