Despite contemplating retirement after he was selected in the expansion draft last November, Dynamo icon Brian Ching will report to camp with the Montreal Impact. Link here.

Good for Brian

I don’t blame him one iota. Not one iota. That is a lot of cash to just up and walk away from. Besides, if he reports to camp, his salary is guaranteed for the rest of the year, no matter what else happens.

He's calling their bluff

If he shows up they have to payy him, and we all know Montreal doesn’t want to lock up that much cap space on someone who isn’t a part of their long term plan. He’s trying to force their hand, but if not Im sure Ching will show up and be a pro about it.

The best way to screw Montreal is to report. Time is on Dynamo’s side. Make Marsch pay.

The Plot Thickens

Best of luck to him. I hope he has a great year…collecting his paycheck on the bench. Seriously though, even if he has his best year ever, no hard feelings.

I just don't know what to think.

How will he be able to set aside his passion for our team when they come to play us next year?

Do you guys not figure it out yet?

Chinger has been in communication with the Dynamo “secretly” all along about the matter. Chinger has season-ending surgery in the second week of the season. However, he is fit and ready to play in the playoffs, after he’s returned to the Dynamo at a very reduced price. 100% fit and ready to go for a playoff run. And the Dynamo don’t have to pay but a tiny fraction of Ching’s salary.

That

would be the plot to end all plots. A delicious one, indeed.

Though if it happens I here and now solemnly declare I will run on to the pitch and give him a bear hug. Trespassing, assault, whatever. IT WILL HAPPEN

I'd advise just waiting until after the game

Lol. I have a feeling if it happens like that, there would be Dynamo parties to meet up with him and Davis and others (Cameron, too)
