Carr plus Weaver, Kandji plus Bruin or Ching
Damn I am really loving our Forwards situation now. Kandji is netting them and so is Weaver, and both are getting fed the ball and FEEDING the ball beautifully. If they keep this up, Chinger can have a nice 10 game break after he reaches game 9 of the regular season. Haha.

think about our midfield options; part of the issue before was we either had a midfield that could feed the ball but no one to score or the opposite. Now we have a variety of forwards to work with and a variety of midfield options to supply the ball, either through direct play or run-of-play. I’m REALLY intrigued to see if (fingers crossed) we end up signing the likes of Arreola, Ownby and Creavalle what they could do in the middle. We could potentially see these guys in Open Cup or CCL action along with Dixon and Soto and maybe Clark to put a veteran head in there. Our youngsters have quickness, loads of creativity and technique.
Here here!
I think the reserve guys are going to see a lot of playing time with all the competitions. For those that do well, when WCQ comes around they’ll have earned starters call ups.
I have no idea who I want up top with Ching (assuming he gets to start every game). Weaver is another big man that takes physicality well, Bruin is big but can run down balls and create for others well, Kandji is big, fast, and has some good technique with the ball, and Carr is speed racer. That list doesn’t include the rookie or the trialists.
Could we finally be in a position choose our forward line according to match ups? Should we bust out the 4-3-3? (Probably not). But right now we have a lot of guys that work in our system. We want typically guys that can hold the ball up well and are good in the air, and we want guys that can spread defenses with speed.
Yup
Dom is fortunately spoiled for choices here, because he has a nice stable to choose and pair. You have big guys (Ching), big quick guys (Bruin & Kandji), quick guys (Carr, Sato) and guys who find ways to score (Weaver, Rolfe)
So I won’t be surprised to see him mix it up depending on opposing match-ups and competitions, but this is a great problem to have
I am so glad that the Disney Classic is going to be available to stream
It’s going to be exciting to see some of these guys play games in a competition rather than seeing scrimmages in only highlight clips.
Also
I know we probably won’t know until after the Mousey Ball Tournament but haven’t seen any updates regarding the status of the trialists…as far as I know we still have the following competing for contracts/spots:
Ownby (MF/FW)
Roberts (MF)
Sato (FW)
Arreola (MF)
Creavalle (MF/D)
Aseweh (FW)
Okiomah (FW)
Recio (D)
I thought we had 6 spots open (4 on senior team, 2 on reserves) but someone correct me if that’s inaccurate.
Ownby, Sato, Arreola, Creavalle have stood out for me, but I wonder about Recio simply because of a lack of depth at D. I know Creavalle is D-Mid by preference but could probably be deputized at the back in a pinch. Assuming there are 6 spots, I’d say give it to Roberts because we’ll need guys who can play in the middle over the course of the season. But I imagine Dom will have his decisions after the tournament, unless someone knows otherwise
