stupid mistake
it sounds like it all started because they wouldn’t let the black guys in. I’ve seen it happen at that exact bar, and It’s infuriating. Doesn’t excuse getting into a fight with a cop, and with Deric’s history just being there is a questionable decision…even if he hadn’t been drinking. Still I’ll be interested in to see more of the facts.

You do not get into it with a uniformed police officer period! Looks like we need to bench him a few matches.
where does it say he was uniformed?
bars use off duty police as muscle all the time. Never assume the racist doorman is just a doorman, he may be a racist cop instead!

welp,
cant say ive ever met a good cop. Im sure the cop was probably being a dick, but Deric has no right to act the way he did. I just hope he wasnt drinking as ive read that he has had a drinking problem before and was already on his last string with the team. from what I hear though, this bar has a history of being racist, hell even on Yelp people say it. either way, next time lets hope they just read reviews before they walk into a shitty bar
cops love to cry wolf and go sergio busquets when it comes to claiming they were "assaulted"
Just based on how often they overcharge these cases I would bet the main charge gets dismissed and he pleads to a disturbing the peace or gets the case dismissed entirely for taking some anger management classes.
