USWNT Player Morgan Brian Wins 2013 Hermann Trophy

Top college award going to Morgan Brian after stellar season at Virginia.

A junior at the University of Virginia Morgan Brian was awarded the 2013 Missouri Athletic Club's Hermann Trophy. She is a top midfielder who very few weaknesses. She has no problems making runs and passing the ball and has a killer finish.

Brian was the ACC's leading scorer this season with 46 points on 16 goals and 14 assists. She was the Soccer America Women's Player of the Year as well as the TopDrawerSoccer.com Player of the Year. She was the ACC Player of the Week for both August 27 and October 15. She started 25 games this season missing one game due to international duty.

She had been an active part of the USWNT U-17's and U-20 teams before being called up to the senior squad in 2013. She scored her first international goal September 3 coming off the bench against Mexico.

The Hermann trophy is voted on by NCAA Division I soccer coaches as well as a weighted fan vote and awarded to the best male and female players that season.She is the first women's player from Virginia to win the award.
