I hear there's some demand for a pre-game weather forecast, and being a meteorology grad student at Texas A&M I figure I can supply the info for everyone (note: IRL obligations may conflict, but I'll work around them where I can). Let's get to it, shall we?
For Saturday 7:30-10 PM at BBVA, looks like temps will be around 70 F -> 65 F with south/southeast winds 5-10 mph. It'll probably be somewhat muggy with relative humidity 70% and climbing. Generally, there'll be a 30% chance of rain, which for me personally isn't enough to make me take an umbrella.
The main weather concern is a slight risk of severe storms (hail or strong straight-line winds, but probably not tornadoes) during the evening. NOAA's Storm Prediction Center (SPC) has nearly all of east Texas in a Slight Risk area (up to 15% chance of severe within 25 miles of a given point), including Houston, Galveston, and the whole Texas Triangle.
Looking at the severe parameters and models, I'm kinda thinking we may get storms, but not severe. This agrees more with the Houston/Galveston (HGX) Weather Forecast Office (WFO), which thinks the best chance for severe will be well to the north of SE Texas, toward DFW. Still, there's enough of a threat that fans in attendance at BBVA should keep an eye on their weather radar apps.
