It’s never a good sign when rain delays become the norm, but sadly they have become just that in Houston. This time it was a small one with kickoff between the Houston Dynamo and DC United coming almost an hour later than it was supposed to.
The first half was a quiet one on both sides. Both teams had a few shots but neither managed to find the back of the net. As the half wore on the Dynamo began to build more momentum, but managed just three shots in the first half.
The second half started with the Dynamo’s best chance of the game to that point. Andrew Wenger had a great first touch off a through ball but his shot went just wide of the net. Moments later Will Bruin would have a shot got off the post.
In the 82nd minute, Alex looked to have a good chance, but his shot was just wide as it went into the side netting. Manotas and Rodriguez both had chances as time expired on the clock but Bill Hamid was there to stop both of them.
The Dynamo led possession in the scoreless draw and had 17 shots to DCU’s 8. Coming away with a single point leaves Houston firmly in last place in the Western Conference.
Next up the Dynamo travel to Oregon to play the Portland Timbers.
