Ghanian midfielder Anthony Obodai played with the team in their friendly against the Laredo Heat last Thursday. Obodai ais 27 and has played for Ajax, Sparta Rotterdam and RKC Waalwijk.
The two new faces are Kendall Watson, a Costa Rican defender and Argentinian midfielder Juan Manuel Quevedo. HoustonDynamo.com has some details on the two new faces who will attempt to earn a spot on the team.
Waston, 22, is a promising defender/forward from Costa Rican club Saprissa, although he has experience with several other clubs. He played for Costa Rica in the 2007 FIFA U-20 World Cup, helping the Ticos to a 2-1 win over Scotland in his only appearance. Most recently, Waston played on loan with Bayamon FC in Puerto Rico, scoring five goals in seven Caribbean Football Union Championship games. Bayamon reached the final round but failed to qualify for the 2010-11 CONCACAF Champions League. In last year's Champions League, Waston scored two goals in three games for Saprissa.Quevedo, 26, holds dual Italian-Argentine citizenship but has spent his entire playing career in South America, often as an attacking midfielder. His early career included stints in Argentina with San Lorenzo and Estudiantes de Buenos Aires. More recently, he scored eight goals in 23 games with Chilean club Palestino in the fall of 2009 and played for Rampla Juniors in Uruguay in spring 2010.
