MLS Announces 2011 Generation adidas Class

The 2011 MLS Generation adidas class is loaded with both talent and University of Akron products. After earning their school's first NCAA Championship, five of Akron's best join four other players to complete next season's class.

The Dynamo hold the seventh pick currently in the 2011 MLS SuperDraft so there is a good chance one of these young players could be selected. Danny Cruz is currently the only Generation adidas player on the roster.

Generation adidas contracts provide the opportunity for players to leave college early and continue to develop their soccer careers in MLS. Salaries paid to GA players are typically much larger than the average league salary (typically over 100k) and do not count against a team's salary cap. Players remain in the GA program until their development and playing time is determined by the league to be sufficient for them to be graduated from the program.
