The expansion Vancouver Whitecaps are coming to Houston for the first time and will get one chance to enjoy the "unique accommodations" of Robertson Stadium. It's the first match back at Robertson for the Dynamo since their season opening loss to the Union on March 19th.
The Dynamo are coming off a 1-0 extra time loss to Sporting Kansas City in the U.S. Open Cup on Wednesday and will be dealing with several injury issues. Brian Ching is out with a rib injury and Brad Davis is questionable with a hamstring strain, though he did practice lightly today. Jermaine Taylor remains out as well.
We'll have to wait and see tomorrow who Kinnear sends out to start, but if the Dynamo make a playoff run this year, it's going to start with getting full results at home. Even with the injury issues, you'd have to think anything less than three points against the Whitecaps will be unacceptable, even at this early point on the season.
Vancouver isn't without their roster issues as well. Michael Nanchoff and Terry Dunfield are out for Sunday, while Shea Salinas and John Thorrington are doubtful. Defender Jay DeMerit and Greg Janicki are questionable. In addition, designated player Eric Hassli (who has scored three goals already this season) and Gershon Koffie will both be serving red card suspensions.
One more note on the Whitecaps, the #1 overall pick in the 2010 MLS SuperDraft, Omar Salgado, will be available for selection for the first time this season.
