Dynamo Have English Midfielder Giles Barnes In Town

One of our readers tipped us off to a player walking with Chris Canetti at Saturday's match. We now have confirmation today that it was Giles Barnes, a 24-year-old attacking midfielder/winger who was released from his contract with Doncaster in May.

Brown broke on the scene in 2007 with Derby County, winning the club's Young Player of the Year award. He struggled with injuries during Derby's 2007-08 Premier League campaign and was finally released in 2009 after suffering another injury in the pre-season. He spent some time at West Brom before singing with Doncaster in 2011.

At this point, it appears to be a trial and I doubt the club will say much about it until a decision is made either way. They might never even publicly acknowledge it, who knows. Barnes is out of contract though, so he could sign with the Dynamo before the roster freeze on September 15th. It's a no risk situation really, but Barnes' history of knee troubles will make the Dynamo be weary I'm sure. They'll want to see how healthy he is, but a short contract of some kind isn't out of the question (this is just me speculating).

We'll keep an eye out for more.
