Alex Dixon scores game winning goal for Tampa Bay Rowdies

Alex Dixon scored his first goal for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in style. His goal put the Rowdies up 2-0, but they'd give up a late goal and his strike would stand to be the winner.

Alex Dixon, on loan to the Tampa Bay Rowdies, once again came into the game as a substitute (63rd minute) but this time he made a huge impact on the game scoring a goal in the 78 minute. Dynamo fans won't be thrilled that he still isn't getting starting minutes but at least this week he made a big impact. Maybe he saw the comments from last week and thought 'I'll show those Dynamo Theory people'.

In his first goal since going to the Tampa Bay he scored on a cross from Geogri Hirstov that he tapped in to give the Rowdies the lead. They gave up a goal to the Fort Lauderdale Strikers, but were able to hold on for a 2-1 win.

The Rowdies have another game on May 4. Dixon's loan is set to expire on May 5 but it does include options to extend the loan. No word yet on what will happen at the end of the loan.

The Richmond Kickers did not have a game this week so no Brian Ownby report. But their next game is away to Wilmington Hammerheads on May 3 with another game the next night at home to the Charlotte Eagles. It will be interesting to see what sort of minutes Ownby gets in both games. The USL Pro has most, if not all, of their games available to stream on line if you want to check out Ownby in action.
