Midfielder Alex Dixon returned to the Dynamo from the Tampa Bay Rowdies and is now on the bench for the boys in Orange just in time to rack up some SkyMiles. Dixon flew from Tampa to LA and will be available to the team in their upcoming matches. Dixon didn't see action in either of the Dynamo's road games, but with a tired team he could see action this weekend against Sporting Kansas City. Dixon's loan expiration couldn't have come at a better time considering the injuries and increase of matches during this stretch of the schedule.
Dixon finished his loan with Tampa Bay playing in three matches (zero starts), while scoring one goal.
The Richmond Kickers played back to back games this weekend both of which Brian Ownby started in. First against the Wilmington Hammerheads where they played away at Wilmington and Ownby played a solid 80 minutes. But he really shined the next night back in Richmond against the Charlotte Eagles. He put the Kickers up 1-0 after slipping past the Eagles defense and going one on one against goalkeeper Eric Reed and then played the ball perfectly to the right corner of the goal. Twenty minutes later he made an impact assisting on a goal that put the Kickers up 2-0. Throughout the game he continued to backtrack on the ball and create chances for his teammates. He came out of the game in the 69 minute and the Kickers ended up letting the Eagles back in to tie the game.
Ownby is having a great run with the Kickers, playing and starting in four matches, while added a goal and two assists. Next up for Richmond is a home game vs Antigua Barracuda FC on May 11.
