Coach Waldrum and the Soca Princesses captured their first win of the CONCACAF WWC Qualifiers after defeating Haiti in a hard-fought match filled with yellow (and a red) cards.
Haiti nearly found a goal in the 22nd minute, but goalkeeper Kimika Forbes was able to tip it over the crossbar. The lone goal of the match would come in the 35th minute off of Ahkeela Mollon's cross to Kennya Cordner, who's headed hit the post and landed in the net.
After the half, Forbes, who has been a savior in goal for Trinidad, was sent off with a red card after appearing to hit a Haiti player in the face. Trindad was able to hang on to the lead despite an 87th minute challenge by Haiti.
In their final Group A game, Trinidad will take on Guatemala October 20th at RFK Stadium.
