Houston Dynamo Announce Preseason Competitions

The Dynamo will take part in the Carolina Challenge Cup and the Desert Friendlies

The Houston Dynamo announced today that they will take part in the Carolina Challenge Cup in Charleston South Carolina and the Desert Friendlies in Tuscon Arizona in February 2015.

In the Desert Friendlies, the Dynamo will face the San Jose Earthquakes on February 4th, the Portland Timbers on the 7th, and the Vancouver Whitecaps on the 10th.

Dates for the matches for the Carolina Challenge Cup were not immediately available, but will take place towards the end of their preseason schedule. The four-team preseason tournament will include the Dynamo, USL Pro host the Charleston Battery, and the two new MLS expansion sides New York City FC and Orlando City SC.

In the past, former head coach Dominic Kinnear has used the preseason as a tune up and trial for some players, but this coming preseason comes with a lot more questions than usual. The Dynamo are also expected to announce more preseason games to take place at their practice facility at Houston Sports Park.
