Since the announcement that head coach Dominic Kinnear would be leaving Houston for San Jose the front office has been knee deep in finding his replacement. While Dynamo President Chris Canetti said the pile of head coaching candidates was around 100 candidates today Darrell Lovell tweeted out that the team had narrowed things down a bit.
Talked to a few people about the coaching search today. Interview process is done and club is moving forward.— Darrell Lovell (@DarrellLovell) November 11, 2014
Reported Monday there are 5 or 6 candidates and that number will shrink in coming weeks. Could see hire made in the next few weeks.— Darrell Lovell (@DarrellLovell) November 11, 2014
Wade Barrett and Steve Ralston interviewed Monday. Heard positives about both.— Darrell Lovell (@DarrellLovell) November 11, 2014
If Dynamo assistant coaches Wade Barrett and Steve Ralston are among the 5 or 6 that means the Dynamo are looking at 4 or 5 people from outside of the organization. The team has said that they would like to have a new coach in place before the Dec. 10 Expansion Draft.
