The Houston Dynamo announced today that the move to send Tally Hall to Orlando City SC was official. In exchange for Hall, the Dynamo will receive allocation funds and an international roster spot which should help the team in its transition to Dynamo 3.0.

Hall had an impressive career in Houston earning two MLS All-Star nods, he was the Dynamo MVP of the 2013 season, and he holds the Dynamo record for postseason shutouts with five. Hall began his time in Houston as an understudy to Pat Onstad as he earned playing time in reserve games and in CONCACAF Champions' League (which featured a goal by Hall) but found himself to be Houston's man in goal following Onstad's retirement and he soon led the team to two MLS Cup appearances in 2011 and 2012.

The move leaves the spot for #1 goalkeeper up for grabs and Tyler Deric and Joe Willis, recently acquired from D.C. United, will be in competition for the position. We'll get a better idea of who newly signed head coach Owen Coyle plans to use as his #1 keeper after the announcement of the Expansion Draft Protected List.
