NWSL Fantasy League: Can You Excel as an NWSL Manager?

NWSL has created a free Fantasy League with weekly prizes, and April 12 is the roster deadline!

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

The National Women's Soccer League has a free Fantasy League open for all participants. Maybe you're looking to find your next fantasy fix. Maybe you want to become more involved in women's soccer, since the Houston Dash kick off their inaugural match this weekend. Maybe you want to know what it's like to be Brian Ching. In any case, this is the perfect opportunity!

The roster deadline is this Saturday, April 12 at 7:45PM EDT. There are no fantasy salaries to keep track of, but there are a couple of limitations in who you can draft. You are only allowed five allocated players (designated by a diamond on the website) on your squad at any given time and only five players are allowed from any one NWSL team. Five formations are available to choose: 4-4-2, 4-3-3, 4-5-1, 3-5-2, 3-4-3. For each position, you draft the requisite number of players, as well as one alternate.

Each week, the players on your starting XI earn points (see full scoring here), and in each position, the substitute will replace one player if she does not participate at all in her match. A captain and vice captain are selected each week. The captain earns double points, and the vice captain fills in if the captain does not play.

It looks like the Rabbi Rovers will be playing NWSLFL as well as FMLS... good luck to all who enter!
