Three Houston Dash matches to air via new ESPN deal

With ESPN showing nine NWSL matches this season the Dash will play in three of them.

The NWSL and ESPN announced an agreement for 2014 for the network to broadcast nine NWSL games this season. ESPN2 will be airing three regular season matches and all of the playoffs. ESPN3 will be streaming three regular season matches as well.

"We are very excited to announce our new agreement with ESPN," NWSL Executive Director Cheryl Bailey said in the press release. "In the midst of our second season, we are striving to provide our fans with improved access to our league matches and airing our games on ESPN2 and ESPN3 will give us a broader platform to expose fans to the amazing caliber of women's soccer in the NWSL. We also hope to create new fans who will appreciate the amazing athletes and personalities in our league."

While it is a huge step for the league, ESPN is in over 92 million homes, it places some fans at a disadvantage specifically those without ESPN. While all NWSL matches have been available on YouTube this season reports surfaced that the matches featured on the ESPN networks would not be available on YouTube.
