Houston Dash to scrimmage against FC Dallas U-23s

With a two week gap between NWSL games the Houston Dash are travelling to Frisco, TX to play a scrimmage against FC  Dallas' U-23 squad that plays in the Elite Clubs National League. While this is a game outside of

The Houston Dash are currently sitting seventh in the NWSL their 4-8-1 record hides just how good this team really is. The team lost their last match in heartbreaking last second fashion at home against FC Kansas City.

FC Dallas currently sits third in their group after playing seven games so far this season. They have won four games, tied one and lost two. The team will be coached by none other than Ben Waldrum.

Ben is the son of Dash head coach Randy Waldrum and this will be the first time that the two will face off as coaches. Ben worked under Randy while he was the head coach at Notre Dame for five years. The younger Waldrum was on the sidelines for the Dash's last match as an assistant coach stepping in after Lee Cullip stepped down from his position as assistant coach. But naturally this week the line was drawn in the proverbial sand and the trash talking started online:

The two teams will be squaring off at Bishop Lynch High School on June 21 at 7:30pm CT. It doesn't sound like the match will be available to watch online so be sure and attend if you can!
