Houston Dynamo Academy finished out their season in fourth place in the Frontier division going 14-8-5. They had finished the season with 47 points while league winner Colorado Rush had 57. This left Houston in seventh place in the wildcard pool for the playoffs since fourth place is just outside of guaranteeing a-go in the playoffs.

They had finished the regular season strong winning their last five matches with all but one being a shut out. They scored 64 goals this season with forward Elochukwu Ozumba leading the way with 13 goals scored. Their biggest victory this season was an 8-0 win over the San Antonio Scorpions Youth Academy. They failed to scored in only three of their 27 matches this season.

Ozumba is originally from Nigeria and graduating from Strake Jesuit College Preparatory this year. He played in 24 games this season and had 17 starts. In addition to 13 goals he had two assists. He is signed with the Northwestern Wildcats to start college in the fall. Forward Emmanuel Usen had 7 goals and 3 assists on the season. Usen played in 18 games and started in 11. He is committed to Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis. Midfielder Jose Rodriguez was the leader in assists for the team notching 7 as well as 6 goals of his own in the 22 games he started and played in.

Overall, the team posted a good season with a lot of players to watch for in the future. As youth soccer continues to grow in this country we will see more and more talented players find their way to the academy system.
