According to Stephen Goff of the Washington Post who tends to have his ear to the ground on rumors, DaMarcus Beasley is nearly a Houston Dynamo but there are some things that have to happen first. Allocation order has the Houston Dynamo 14th, which means they would either have to move up or the other 13 teams before them would have to pass on Beasley, unless a secondary method of DP were used wherein the league buys into the player as being a big "grab" for the league and thereby the player avoids allocation entirely.
Yes, the MLS allocation for USMNT DPs is...weird at best.
