Yesterday afternoon slipping under the radar was an interview by Clutch City Soccer with former Houston Dynamo Academy prospect Sebastien Ibeagha. For the most part, I get the feeling Ibeagha maybe wanted to tell his side of the story, and also to share his love and support for not just the city of Houston but also the Houston Dynamo as well.
Almost more important than the questions about Ibeagha and whether he'd consider a return to the Houston Dynamo and Major League Soccer was his comments on a couple of Houston Dynamo Academy prospects, Pat Wall and Bradley Bourgeois.
On the possibility of other Dynamo Academy players possibly stepping in and making a difference as well as discussing any other defender prospects who might make an impact in the future: "Yea I remember Bradley [Bourgeois], was a year below me in the Academy. I guess it'll be interesting to see how things pan out"
Commenting on the idea of Notre Dame GK Pat Wall getting a shot soon to be the 3rd string goalie or even 2nd string if Tally Hall were to be moved in the offseason: "Yea I would be surprised as well [if Wall isn't offered a shot with Houston]".
In the end, we learn a few things about the level of the offer from the Houston Dynamo that Sebastien ultimately rejected (multiple times). We also learn he does have his eye on the Houston Dynamo and Major League Soccer, and eventually (perhaps sooner than later?) hopes to make a return to "where it all began" with the team.
I don't know about you, but I like that idea.
