Fantasy MLS: Week 28 Matchups

Since this is a rare week with no mid-week games, we're going to take a closer look at the matchups ahead of this weekend's matches.

Here are the matches on tap for the weekend, along with who we think are the stand-out players for each fixture. Keep in mind that Seattle play twice in Round 29, so you'll want to start preparing for that as well.

COL @ RSL - Flailing Colorado will have a tough time at the RioT, so expect another week of the Javier Morales and Joao Plata show.

VAN @ POR - Diego Valeri.

HOU @ PHI - Giles Barnes has bagged three goals in two home games, but he'll be in Philly, where Sebastien Le Toux has notched a goal or assist in his last five home games.

NE @ CLB - Barn-burner alert: five goals, two assists from Lee Nguyen in five games, against Columbus' 14 goals from six.

SJ @ MTL - If Ignacio Piatti is healthy by the weekend, this could be another high-scoring match featuring two porous defenses.

SEA @ NY - Thierry and the Red Bulls will put up a good fight, but without Bradley Wright-Phillips in the picture, Obafemi Martins and Clint Dempsey seem the most likely to score points at Red Bull Arena.

DC @ CHI - The thrashing at LA a few weeks back aside, Bobby Boswell and Bill Hamid have formed the spine for one of the strongest back lines in MLS this season.

CHV @ TOR - Move along -- nothing to see here.

DAL @ LA - This one could go either way. Landon Donovan will be itching to get back to breaking records now that he's back from his yellow card suspension, and Robbie Keane will want to atone for his penalty miss last weekend. Gyasi Zardes, Tesho Akindele, and Fabian Castillo continue to be red-hot.
