September friendlies are just around the corner, and several of our favorite Fantasy MLS players will soon be off serving their respective countries. The FantasyMLS Reddit forum is keeping up a list of the called up players, but some key personnel that will be absent includes: Robbie Keane (Ireland), Jaime Penedo (Panama), Tim Cahill (Australia), Nick Rimando (United States), Joao Plata (Ecuador), Victor Bernardez (Honduras), and Marco Pappa (Guatemala).
Along with those notable absences, several other players will be suspended for one or more games this week, including Kofi Sarkodie, Dom Dwyer, Benny Feilhaber, Scott Caldwell, Tony Tchani, and Will Trapp for yellow card accumulation, and Erick Torres for his red card last week. As you all have heard by now, Tally Hall will also be out for the season with a torn ACL, so Tyler Deric ($4.3M) may be an option as a budget starting GK, if you think the Dynamo are going to pull off some clean sheets in the upcoming weeks.
Chivas USA, New England Revolution, Philadelphia Union, Sporting KC, and Toronto FC all have two games this week, so be sure to take that into account when making your transfers before tonight's deadline.
Good luck, and be sure not to pick Keane (like I did last week)!
