Houston Dynamo has announced the preseason schedule that will help the team prepare for the club's tenth season and give fans their first look at the new era. The schedule, which takes place throughout the month of February, will begin following the start of training camp next Monday, January 26th.
Preseason preparations will be familiar to many with the Dynamo hitting Tuscon, Arizona's Desert Friendlies and the Carolina Challenge Cup (hosted by new USL Pro affiliate Charleston Battery) for the third consecutive year. Wedged between the two events are fixtures against the Academy U-18s and USL Pro's Austin Aztex, under the helm of former Dynamo Paul Dalglish.
Houston will face MLS competition in five of the eight scheduled matches, including the first meeting against ex-Dynamo head coach Dominic Kinnear and his San Jose Earthquakes, Portland Timbers, and Vancouver Whitecaps. Alongside the Charleston Battery, the Dynamo will also meet new MLS expansions New York City FC and Orlando City SC as part of the Carolina Challenge Cup.
