The Houston Dynamo announce the signing of Leonel Miranda, a 21-year old midfielder from Argentina's CA Independiente from the Primera Division. Pending the approved paperwork, the player will join Houston on loan for the 2015 season with an option to buy at the end of the year.
The young signing appears to be the first to originate from Matt Jordan's scouting trip in November, in which the technical director dove into Spain and South America to identify potential targets to fill holes for the Dynamo. Jordan cites Miranda as "a dynamic, young, and versatile midfielder that can play several different positions."
Miranda hails from the Buenos Aires-based CA Independiente, considered one of the premier clubs in Argentinian football. The midfielder joined the club in October of 2012 and has since seen over 30 appearances in Primera Division, scoring twice. His versatility will be of use in possibly backing up Ricardo Clark in the center of midfield or being pushed into the center forward position.
