Erick Torres scores against Canada in Olympic qualifying

Cubo Torres scores for Mexico's U-23 team in CONCACAF Olympic qualifying tournament.

The Houston Dynamo striker scored early for Mexico's U-23 team helping to lead them to a 2-0 victory over Canada.

The goal was scored just six minutes into the game as Hirving Lozano sent a cross into the box that was blocked back out by the Canadian defense. Lozano sent it back into the box and Torres headed it right past Canada's goalkeeper and into the back of the net. Torres' teammates joined in as his did his standard robot goal celebration.

Mexico dominated time of possession and dominated the game. In the second half, Lozano scored to put Mexico up 2-0, a score that would hold until the final whistle.

The win qualifies Mexico for the Olympics set to take place next summer in Rio de Janeiro. Canada will now have to play in the third place game against the United States. The winner of that game will have to play a one-off against Colombia to determine who will play in the Olympics.
