With the recent and unsurprising reports of Alex Morgan heading to the newly established Orlando Pride, the news broke Wednesday the Houston Dash are expected to play a role in the trade. Since the expansion was announced, fans had fretted on social media over with of the team's three U.S. National Teamers would be left unprotected. Now it seems the answer is, "none."
Equalizer Soccer has reported Houston is expected to trade defender Meghan Klingenberg to Seattle, who will then leave her unprotected during the Expansion Draft. Orlando is then expected to draft her, before sending her to Portland as part of a trade. The deal is expected to send midfielder Amber Brooks to Houston.
During her two seasons with the Dash, Klingenberg played in 19 games while also competing in Europe as well as with the U.S. Women's National Team.
The potential new Dash player, Brooks is currently with the Seattle Reign. She played in 12 games in 2015 and tallied one goal. During the 2014 season she played for the Portland Thorns, playing in 20 games and netting one goal and two assists .
