Dynamo Academy Update: U18s Start Season Strong

Squad is undefeated and 1st place in the Frontier Division

Coming into the 2015-2016 season, the Dynamo Academy U18s had high expectations. Makes sense, considering their strong run last season and the return of many talented players. But just four games into Frontier League play, they are dominating.

Sitting in first place, despite playing the fewest games of any other team in the division, the U18s are 3-0-1 and out-scoring opponents a whopping 16-4. The draw was a 1-1 result against Colorado Rush earlier this month but the three wins have been convincing affairs with score lines of 3-1 against Real Colorado, a 7-2 thrashing against Solar Chelsea, and a 5-0 blanking against the Dallas Texans.

Leading the way for the Dynamo is striker Juan "Charly" Flores with an impressive 7 goals in just 4 matches. He credits the team's winning mentality for their early success. "The intensity is there on game day, and the hunger to win is there also. It is important we maintain that over the next few games before Christmas break."

That break will last a little over a month, but according to Flores, fitness levels should remain strong. "Coach John DeWitt has us prepared and we feel like we can play whistle to whistle at a really high intensity. So far this season, our fitness has been outstanding."

The U18s have one more home game before a four game road trek that will take them from Austin to Colorado leading up to the holiday break.
