Carli Lloyd named US Female Soccer Player of the Year

Houston Dash midfielder named Player of the Year.

To say Carli Lloyd had an amazing year would understate her run at the Women's World Cup.

She scored the fastest goal in World Cup Final history this summer when she scored just two minutes and 34 seconds into the Final. She scored a hat trick in the game including her midfield goal. She scored six goals total in the tournament. She won the Silver Boot for the WWC, scoring the second most goals of the tournament.

The win wasn't just about the Women's World Cup as Lloyd scored 18 goals in 2015. She started in 23 of 25 matches that she played in this year.

Lloyd joined the Houston Dash in a huge trade before the 2015 NWSL season. She missed a number of games in 2015 due to her USWNT duties but her presence was felt each match that she made it onto the field for the Dash.

This is the second time that she has won the award. In 2088 she was also honored as the US Female Player of the Year.
