Last week we started a "pick the lineup" series to see who fans thought should start on opening day for the Houston Dynamo. Turns out that the players that fans wanted to see was the lineup that head coach Owen Coyle trotted out against Columbus Crew SC.
The formation race was close with the 4-4-2 besting the 4-5-1 53% to 41% with the "other" option claiming the remaining 6%. The players selected for the XI was very clear and there were no real battles for spots in your minds. The least picked starter was Jermaine Taylor, and 67% of you thought he should start and the highest picked "bench" player was Leonel Miranda with only 32% of those surveyed thought he should earn a start.
With last week's match being a close affair do we stick with the players that started or go a different route? Last week the starters played fairly evenly with Columbus, but after the formation changed we saw an offensive spark which gifted us a Giles Barnes goal. However, the defensive composure after the formation switch seemed to wane as Columbus forced Tyler Deric to playing some of the best goalkeeping of his career (how often do we say that with this guy). Who is in your XI? Feel free to speculate or share your thoughts in the comments below!
