Last week we were surprised a bit with the lineup that Owen Coyle trotted out against Orlando City SC which featured a 4-4-2 with Oscar Boniek Garcia and Giles Barnes up top with Leonel Miranda earning his first MLS start for the Houston Dynamo. We also saw David Horst fit in ably for the injured Raúl Rodríguez at center back.
Houston's defense is actually one of the league's best having only given up one goal in two games, although the goal given up was easily the most embarrassing goals of the MLS year.
In our last "You pick ‘em" lineup the 4-4-2 was once again the preferred starting lineup, although it was still close. However, the players with the most number of votes actually lent itself to the 4-5-1 with Leonel Miranda edging out Will Bruin by 5 votes.
Houston's defense will be put to the test when they travel to Los Angeles and face the attacking power of Robbie Keane and Gyasi Zardes. Houston could have Spanish CB Raúl Rodríguez back in action so keep that in mind when you make your defensive selections for your lineup against LA.
Raul Rodriguez worked on the side today. Coyle said they will have a talk about his availability for the weekend.

While the Dynamo defense has done well to weather Columbus Crew SC and Orlando City, the offense has been a work in progress. The team is searching for ways to combine its talented midfield with its strikers and have only found the net once in two matches. How will you build your lineup to go against the Los Angeles Galaxy?
