Honduras was the first to score but after three unanswered goals by French Guiana, Honduras' qualification for the Gold Cup looks to be jeopardy. Playing in front of 3500 home fans, French Guiana treated them to the win and the hope that their team could qualify for the Gold Cup for the first time ever.
Jerry Bengtson scored to put Honduras on the board first in the 17th minute of the game. Eight minutes later French Guiana got on the board and followed it up with a second goal two minutes later. A third goal in the 61st minute put the game out of reach for Honduras.

Boniek Garcia and Luis Garrido of the Houston Dynamo are currently with Honduras and will be with the team for both playoff games.
The second leg will be played in San Pedro Sula, Honduras on March 29. The playoff winner will qualify for the 2015 Gold Cup. As part of group A the winner will play Haiti, Panama and the USMNT.
