A forward for Colombia's U20 national team, Mauro Manotas has signed with the Houston Dynamo. The deal was made just before yesterday's primary transfer window closed.
Manotas has been playing for Uniautonoma F.C. which is currently a part of Colombia's First Division. He has two goals for Uniautonoma so far this season and scored three in 2014.
He has played in three games for the U-20 national team and scored against Brazil in the group stages of the 2015 South American Youth Football Championship. The team finished second in this tournament and in doing so qualified for the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup.
"We are delighted to sign a very young and talented player, one we believe has the potential to grow into a very good player," Dynamo head coach Owen Coyle said in the teams press release. "He has a good physique, can score goals, has pace, and is intelligent. He will have to adapt to MLS, but we look forward to another exciting young player joining the Houston Dynamo."
The team has signed a number of young players recently and look to be building towards the future.
